Keep Track of All Your Health Expenses

How much money do you spend every year on your health? We usually keep track of the primary expenses, like insurance premiums, new glasses, dentists visits, or co-pays when we go to the doctor, but what about all the other small expenses that are a part of managing your health? With the Health Expense Tracker, you can track as many different types of expenses related to you health as needed, from prescriptions to vitamins to fitness equipment to gym dues to personal trainer fees to home medical equipment. Six different types of expenses can be logged:

  • Dental: Any expenses associated to your dental health, from treatment, braces, and cleanings to toothbrushes, floss, and toothpaste.
  • Dietary: Any expenses associated to your diet and nutrition, including fees for a dietitian, dietary supplements, vitamins, or even food.
  • Fitness: Any expenses related to your fitness, including gym memberships, exercise equipment, exercise clothes, and more.
  • Medical: Any medical expenses, such as co-payments, insurance premiums, deductibles, home medical equipment, prescriptions, and more.
  • Vision: Any vision expenses, like glasses, contacts, or visits to the ophthalmologist.
  • Other: Any other expenses related to your health that you want to track and associate to your health history.

For each type of expense, the items can be included in ten different categories:

  • Advisor Visit
  • Co-Pay
  • Education
  • Insurance Premium
  • Medication / Supplement
  • Membership Fee
  • Procedures and Treatments
  • Supplies and Equipment
  • Travel
  • Other

Each expense entry can also include the vendor, which can be helpful to see how much is being spent each year with specific stores, facilities, or locations. Entries also include a mileage field, making it easy to record and total any miles driven for health-related activities, which might be tax-deductible. The costs for an entry are also broken down by the total amount, out-of-pocket amount, insurance covered amount, and tax-deductible amount. Details can be included in the notes for each entry as well, making it easy to keep any other important information you might want to track with your health expense.

Built-In Charts to Show Expenses by Category

Quickly see where your health-related costs are being spent with the built-in Expense Summary. The interactive pie chart updates automatically as expenses are filter by month and year, as well as four different view options to see your costs broken down by total amount, out-of-pocket, insurance paid, and tax-deductible.

Integrate Expenses with Your Insurance Provider History
When a health expense entry is marked that insurance was used, the expense is automatically added to the Insurance Provider History, helping create a detailed log of all claims. Insurance Providers can be for dental, medical, and vision expenses, helping keep detailed records of co-payments, claims, and the benefits of coverage.

Associate Expenses to Your Health History
Health expenses can be associated to any part of your Health History, making it easy to keep track of any costs related to advisors, conditions, procedures, treatments, hospitalizations, testing, or any other relevant area in your health history. An expense summary is included with each part of your Health History, making it quick and easy to export a spreadsheet of all health expenses associated to any part of your health history.

Log Tax-Deductible Health Expenses
Some health-related expenses can be deducted from your taxes. Keep track of all your expenses in HealtheHuman™, quickly marking any tax deductible costs so you can review and export your health expenses for your taxes. Each tax-deductible entry is linked to a tax category, making it easy to itemize your expenses by the appropriate tax categories:

  • Eyewear
  • Facility Fees
  • Insurance Premium
  • Lab Fees
  • Long-Term Care
  • Medical Travel
  • Other
  • Prescriptions
  • Professional Fees
  • Supplies and Equipment
